Fixing Database Upgrade Bug for MySQL Version 5.7
WooCommerce Zapier version 2.8.0 introduced a new, more detailed task history records. This change required an update to the database logic, which, unfortunately, was incompatible with MySQL version 5.7. This release fixes that bug.
Effect on Our Customers
You are only affected if you use MySQL version 5.7 and have updated the WooCommerce Zapier plugin from 2.x to 2.8 or 2.9. In this case, the database upgrade was incomplete, so your task history was not recorded.
If you disabled and enabled the plugin after the update, your task history was recorded, but it introduced internal inconsistencies.
In both cases, simply updating the plugin to this new 2.9.1 version will resolve the database problems.
The complete list of changes in WooCommerce Zapier version 2.9.1 is as follows:
- Ensured the database schema update logic is compatible with MySQL versions prior to 8.0. PR#680
- Referred to Woo.com instead of WooCommerce.com. PR#681
- Referred to Woo Subscriptions instead of WooCommerce Subscriptions. PR#681
If you are using MySQL version 5.7, it’s essential to update the WooCommerce Zapier plugin to version 2.9.1 as soon as possible. Go to your WordPress dashboard, head to the ‘Plugins’ section, and the update will await you. Click the “Update Now” button next to the WooCommerce Zapier plugin and let WordPress handle the rest.
